We added a 'Mr. Check In' to our reading pockets!
Mr. Check In (not Mr. Chicken as the students kept thinking I was saying, haha!) is going to help remind us to 'Check for Understanding' as we are reading.
We can ask questions about what we have just read, such as: Who is the story about? Where does the story take place? What just happened?
Try this using this strategy when reading at home. 'Check In' and talk about what you've read.
