Snowflake and other Christmas Elves

3A was delighted to discover an elf had at arrived in our classroom this week!  Our elf, whom we named Snowflake, surprises us with an elf challenge each day. So far we've made candy cane ornaments that look like Rudolph, handed out candy canes to random students and staff, had an extra recess in the snow, listened to Christmas music, made Christmas cards, and gifted one to the principal. We look forward to more elf fun next week!

This week we also had the opportunity to be Christmas Elves and deliver food and toys to the depot. It was a truly wonderful experience and the kids did an amazing job sorting all the goods.

We wrote Letters to Santa. We learned about the parts of a letter (heading, greeting, body, and closing). The students had some great questions about life at the North Pole. We hope he writes back!

Students read books on epic, practiced reading comprehension on dreamscape, and had a chance to check out abcya and Santa tracker. We also use mathletics and xtramath for math practice and review.
