Fall Walk

This afternoon we walked down to River Drive, took a dip into the forest, walked a section of the trail, and popped back up to the park for a play. We had a yummy apple for a snack. It was a beautiful day for a Fall Walk! The grade 1 students observed many signs of Autumn and collected leaves for a future art project. They collected leaves in as many colours, shapes, and sizes as they could find. We also found pine cones! On the sidewalks, we noticed the crunching leaf sounds. In the trails, we heard birds, felt the soft moss, and saw lichens and mushrooms growing. The students especially enjoyed all the lady bugs crawling around the trees in Ontario Crescent! It was a long walk and we arrived back to school right at the end of the day. THANK YOU so much to all of our volunteers! Moms, Dad, Brothers, Sisters, and Grandma's were all able to join us! We appreciate your time. Hope you enjoyed the Nature! :)
