Check out these very vibrant ice blocks! The Grade Ones enjoyed building this morning. It was a neat project of collaboration and creativity.Their ice sculpture castle turned out beautifully! Thanks to all the parents who took time to freeze ice blocks for us so we could do this project. And extra special thank yous to Mrs. Thomson and Mrs. Gallant who cut open the cartons this morning. Blue hand! THANK YOU!!!

In science today, we experimented with the primary colours. We mixed food colouring and water (just like with the ice sculpture cubes. Then mixed the coloured water together, predicting what new colour we would make. We also read the story Mouse Paint. It is a cute tale about 3 little white mice who go walking in paint. We each got 3 white mice (cotton balls) and walked them through the primary colours to make the secondary colours. Colour mixing fun!
Today we were introduced to the last part of the Daily 5: Read to Someone. We practiced reading with a buddy and added Read to Someone to our Daily 5 schedule. Students did a great job remembering our Daily 5 expectations which apply to all areas.
1) Work quietly 2) Get started right away 3) Stay in one spot 4) Read the whole time 5) Build stamina
Why do we Read to Someone? To become better readers! And it's fun!
