In the classroom:
ELA: This week we are writing shape poems and a color sensory poem.
Students now have all the purple word wall words. I will be assessing this week. Students are expected to read all of the rainbow sight words (red through purple).
Reading 'Splat the Cat and the Oopsie Daisy' and doing a sequencing activity with a group.
Illustrating a 'Plants' book for reading comprehension.
Math: Last week we compared things around our class using our shoe as a measure. We found things that were shorter than our shoe, longer than our shoe, and things that were about the same size (length) as our shoe. This week will be measuring more objects around the class using many different things as a measuring tool.
Science: Planting! Watching our beans grow and planting sunflower seeds. Learning about plant processes. We will do experiments to find out how plants use light to make their own food and why leaves are green.
Social: Citizenship and our Community. Learning more about our Community, exploring services in our community, and creating a Community Scrapbook.
