We had a Great Day today in 1B! I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know your child on the First Day of Grade One! Everything is new on Day 1 and there is lots to learn including routines and a schedule that is much different than Kindergarten! There is so much learning that happens every day in Grade One and I hope to give you a glimpse of that here on my blog.
On the blog you will find information on what we are learning in class, upcoming events, word wall words, plus links to many fun learning websites! There will be a photo gallery and pictures in my posts so you can really see what we are up to in class!
There are so many new things at the start of the school year, we will be spending the first week getting to know each other and our routines. I have prepared a handbook for you that your child brought home today, along with a sheet for you to fill out and return. Each student also has an agenda that will be used as a calendar tool and a means of home/school communication. There are several ways we can communicate: notes in the agenda, email, phone calls, meetings, and this blog. Use whichever is most comfortable for you.
Each student should have a Kanga pouch/Book bag that they were given in Kindergarten that they will continue to use while they are at Robina Baker school. I had some forwarded on. If you have yours at home, please send it in. New students will be issued one from the office. Any that are lost can be purchased (contact the office).
I think that is all for now!
Looking forward to a wonderful year!!
