In the Classroom:

ELA:  Introduction to the 'Daily 5' rotations (Read to Self, Listen to Reading, Word Word, Work with Teacher). Orange word assessment, Bats! We will do a story study: Stellaluna, including identifying story elements, sequencing, and retelling the story.

Math: Odds and Evens, Skip Counting, Numbers up to 50. To celebrate the 50th day of school, we will be having a special theme day on Thursday. Students will participate in literacy, numeracy, and arts activities from the 1950s. Dressing up 50s style is encouraged. :)

Science: Bats! Learning about this unique animal, students will be introduced to research and gather information through non-fiction texts and videos. Students will discover how Bats are helpful and why it is important to care for and protect all animals. Students will write a report on Bats, learn about Echolocation and what it means to be Nocturnal. Students will compare bats to birds.

Social: Discuss Rights and Responsibilities. Continue with our Show and Shares. Our goal is to complete all the Show and Shares by Nov. 26.
