This Week:
Monday: Books and Beads, Popcorn Day! ($1/bag)
Tuesday: 10:45am Remembrance Day Assembly (formal dress), Christmas card orders due
Wednesday: No School, Remembrance Day
Thursday: No School, Mid-term break
Friday: No School, Mid-term Break
In the Classroom:
ELA: We are reading stories about Remembrance Day including A Poppy is to Remember, A Bear in War, and What does Peace feel like? We will do a writing reflection on 'Peace' and an art project this week. Students will be given the final orange words. Keep practicing the words until you know them by sight! I will be sending an extra book for home reading this week. Read every day. :)
Here we are practicing our Rainbow words using Wiki Stiks.

Math: We have been working on pre-addition skills. Students did a few 'Making 10' activities, including playing Shake and Spill, creating a class book, and making 10 using ten-frames.

All the students were able to write an addition equation for 10! Way to go!
The students have requested math centers for this week. :) We will be practicing Numeracy skills through a variety of math stations.
Social: Students are doing an amazing job presenting their Show and Share of a group they belong to! So far we have heard about Skating, Lacrosse, and Sparks. I especially enjoyed hearing from Erin on how important it is to 'Be Yourself'. :) We look forward to more Show and Shares this week. Students also created a Lego version of themselves 'belonging' to a community group. We had a great variety!

Art: Check out our Poppy paintings of Flanders Field!
