The second poem we did is a list poem. We read two humourous poems by Shel Silverstein: Sick and Bandaide. Then we wrote our own poem called, Ouch!
In math we started our measurement unit. We made snakes and compared the sizes.
We heard a tale from long ago how they used the King's foot to measure things. We discovered there could be problems with this type of measure. Regardless, we made our own foot measure and compared it with things around our class. Our challenge was to find items: shorter, longer, and about the same size. We did a great job!
Finally we read a story about string and then compared string size within our group. We wrote about what we discovered in our math journal.
