In the Classroom

ELA

We finished our Penguin Research projects. Come see them at SLCs! This week we are writing about our traps and writing our own fictional penguin story. Students will be given 5 pink words and I will access their knowledge of all of the blue words. Reading groups continue.

Math

Last week we used the Cross-Out strategy for solving subtraction problems. This week we will use the Number line strategy. We are also enjoying playing a fast fact game to help us memorize addition and subtraction facts up to 5.

Science

 In addition to our Penguin research books, students also work in a group to research about one type of penguin. They worked together to make an informational poster and diorama. Students planted Leprechaun Hair seed. We are observing the growth over the next week or so.  We are so excited about the Leprechaun Trap project! The students have been sharing their trap progress daily. Can't wait to see what they created!
