In the Classroom

ELA

We are becoming writers! Students impressed me with their Leprechaun Trap writing and Penguin stories. We will finish the Penguin stories this week. Students made a writing folder and we have added Work on Writing to our Daily 5 rotations.

Math

This week we will complete both Addition and Subtracting problems using the strategies we have learned. We are getting very good at our Fast Facts! Students can practice adding and subtracting facts at home (up to 5) using flash cards or playing cards. This week students will be introduced to a few addition and subtraction games.

Science 

Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring! We are postponing our Spring Walk until after Spring Break when there will be, hopefully, more spring-like conditions out there!  After Spring Break, we will be going on a fieldtrip to Golden Greenhouse to learn more about planting. Check your email for more info.

Social 

We will make a Community Scrapbook as we learn more about the Community of Devon. After Spring Break we will begin to learn about our Community's History starting with a fieldtrip to the John Walter Museum where we will become Pioneers! See your email for more info.

Huge thanks parents for coming out to Student-led conferences on Tuesday. I thoroughly enjoyed observing the students share their learning with you. They were sure proud to show it all off!

And thank you for your support of the Leprechaun Trap project. We had so much fun with this. The traps were amazing! It was neat to see their ideas come to life and they were so inspired to write about them.
