In the Classroom

ELA

We are continuing with Home Reading, Animated Literacy, Words Their Way, Printing, and Wonder Journals. This week we are adding Rainbow Words! Rainbow words is our sight word program. Students will be introduced to 5 words each week. They will keep the words on a ring in their Home Reading folder. Students will practice these words each night until fluent (knows by sight). We will practice the words in class during our Daily 5 time in fun interactive ways using play dough, wiki sticks, magnetic letters, stickers, letter stamps, etc.

We have our first Mystery Reader this week!

Math

Patterning. Students will recognize and continue patterns.

Science

New Unit!  Students will be introduced to the 5 Senses.

Social

We have completed our Class Friends books. We are going to extend our sense of belonging at school beyond the classroom with the book Knuffle Bunny. We are making our own Knuffle Bunny books and going on an adventure around the school!
