Students will be introduced to 5 more sight words. They enjoyed our word activities this week. We played Spider-trap and made words with play dough. They are doing wonderful with the Home Reading. Thanks so much for your support with this program! We are starting Grade One Reading Groups this week. We have cross-grouped all the Grade Ones. Students will be meeting with their group 4 times a week to work on literacy skills such as phonemic awareness, letter sounds and recognition, and basic phonics. We had our first Mystery Reader last week! Thanks so much to Ayden's mom for volunteering to read to us. If you are interested in being a Mystery Reader, please email me to set a day and time! Thanks!
In addition to all our regular ELA activities, we will be doing some Halloween themed reading and writing. This week we will read a great book called, Big Pumpkin. We will be doing sequencing activities including a Reader's Theatre version of the story.
