In the Classroom
ELA
We started our Daily 5 rotations. One of the stations requires all students to have headphones. Please send in a set if your child doesn't have any yet. Thanks!
We read Stellaluna and are doing a book study. Students identified the beginning, middle and end of the story. We sequenced the events and will look closer at the story elements of character, setting, problem and solution this week. We will complete our book study by watching the movie version of the story Stellaluna.
Students will receive the final orange sight words this week. Please continue to review the sight words at home along with the home reading. Thanks!
Math
We are math detectives! We are identifying numbers that come before, after, and in between numbers. We are continuing our number study this week through a story called Odd Todd and Even Steven.

Science
This week we are completing our study of Bats. We've discussed Echolation and played a game called Bat Moth. We compared Bats to Birds. We are looking closer at the different parts of a bat and completing our KWL this week.
Social
Belonging to groups is the focus of our discussions in Social. Students are enjoying sharing about some of the groups they belong to in our community. Groups shared so far include: Sparks, Lego club, and Dance. We will continue sharing this week.
