A peek at this week:
This week is our Fall Walk and Terry Fox run. Please ensure you have filled out the online permission forms for these events on Powerschool. Thank you to those who have already done so!
Volunteers are welcome to join us for both the walk and run. We are walking Wednesday at 1pm. This is a science field trip. We will be collecting leaves and exploring seasonal change. The Terry Fox run is at 10 am on Friday. For the Terry Fox run we are looking for a few special volunteers to act as crossing guards. If you can help in this way, please let me know!
In the classroom...
ELA: We are continuing a review of letter sounds and printing, working on drawing and writing sentences, and doing daily 'read to self' time. This week students will be doing a reading assessment. We are almost ready to begin our home reading program!
Math: Students are working on representing numbers 1-20. The concept this week is: 'Numbers can be represented in several ways'. Students will explore math concepts in many different ways. This week we are playing a partner game called 'Mirrors', singing songs, reading math stories, working in our math booklet, visiting abcya.com, and doing several other number activities to help reinforce the concept.
Social: We are continuing learning about our classmates by interviewing a special student each day and sharing the 'Me bags'.
Science: We are starting the first part of our seasonal change unit. Look for the note and green duotang coming home Monday.
