Here is a peek at our day!
Zero the Hero visited us today. He left a box and a note. In the box were some very tasty zeros! Zero the Hero asked us to Count out 30, then we sorted our '0s' into groups of 5 and counted by 5s to 30. Then we practiced representing the number 30 in many ways (tallys, 10-frames, pictures, numbers, words). Why the number 30? Because it was the 30th day of school! We enjoyed snacking on our fruity 0s after all that counting!
Thank you for helping your child pick something that represents a group s/he belongs to. We learned that we belong to many groups including our family, our school, and in our community.
Students are enjoying the Show and Share time. We will share more tomorrow and next week if needed.

Thank you to Mrs. Donofrio for being our Mystery Reader today! We enjoyed the clues, guessing who it might be, and of course, the stories!

Finally, we built patterns today with snap-cubes. We are starting to notice the patterns all around us. We are learning math words to help us describe patterns and learned that patterns 'repeat'. Have some fun pointing out the patterns you notice at home and around town!
