After getting over the shock of our Big Surprise this morning, 1K got busy with Bubble Day! We made our own wands using straws and headed outside to test them out.

They worked!

Yay Bubbles! |
We worked collaboratively on a giant bubble mural using chalk pastels and a whole lot of circles! Students worked on replicating the shiny rainbows they saw on the bubbles we blew outside.
In the afternoon we used the water bottle and a sock to make bubble snakes. They were so cool and fun to play with! I will share the instructions as many students asked if they could make them at home too.
We also had a chance to read some funny poems about summer and wrote summer bucket lists.
Finally, we got to try out the butter we made yesterday All By Ourselves! It was really neat to shake heavy cream in a jar until it separated into 2 parts: buttermilk and butter. We talked about how people in the past made much of their own food. In our discussions about the past, some students talked about visiting Fort Edmonton Park. It is a wonderful place to walk through time and learn more about history! A great bucket list item! :)
