Last week of Grade One

This is a Laughter and Tears kind of week. We will be celebrating our year of learning-how far the students have come! They can read! I've seen so much growth this year in all areas; we certainly do have much to celebrate! It truly is a bittersweet ending because although we are all ready for a break and look forward to enjoying the summer season, it means we will not be spending our days together and I think we will all miss that just a little bit. It has been a tremendous joy teaching your children this year. I just adore them! Thank you for sharing your child with me. I hope I have served them well and I wish each one all the very best on the next step in their learning journey: Grade 2!  Have a fantastic summer!!

This week's schedule:

Monday: Regular school day, Gr. 1 Flag presentation 1pm

Tuesday: Gr. 1 Bubble Day. Along with some regular class work, we will be participating in some special Bubble-themed activities. We could probably use a few extra hands. If you are interested in having some Bubble Fun with us on Tuesday, let me know! Students will need an empty plastic water bottle for one of the activities. I have a few but we will need 20 in total so if you have any in your recycling bin, please send them our way! Thank you for your assistance!

Wednesday: School-wide Fun Day. Students are participating in swimming and wellness activities in the morning, including soccer, drumfit, and yoga. In the afternoon, there will be a ton of fun activities for the students to participate in. Face painting, sidewalk chalk, skipping, reading, and an obstacle course are a few of the activities.

Thursday: Gr. 1 Camping Day. We will be having a class camp out on Thursday, complete with campfire songs, camp crafts, a scavenger hunt, reading in tents, and a special s'more snack! Students are welcome to bring a flashlight and/or a sleeping bag if they'd like. Students will need 2 empty toilet paper rolls for one of the activities. Thanks!

Friday: Zoo Fieldtrip. We are leaving as soon as school starts on the bus, spending all day at the zoo, and will return by the end of the school day. Students will need to pack all snacks, a lunch, and plenty of water! Report cards will be send home on this day.

The Weather forecast for the week is quite hot! As many of our activities will be outdoors, students will need to bring a hat, sunscreen, and a water bottle to school this week.

We are swimming Wednesday. Bring swim gear!

Looking forward to a fun final week of school!
