In the Classroom:
ELA: Daily 5 and Blue words. Theme books for reading and writing activities include: Enemy Pie and Pie in the Sky, as well as other books about friendship.
We will be studying character traits, discussing what makes a good friend, and writing a recipe for friendship. We will also write a "how to" and will make a bird feeder.
Math: Introduction to Subtraction
Science: Creating Colour activities, Needs of Animals, Penguin unit kick off! Remember to send in $5.00 for this in-school fieldtrip. Thank you!
Social: The Great Canadian Valentines Exchange! We made and mailed 20 Valentines to classrooms across Canada, including BC, Ontario, Nova Scotia, and the Yukon. Over the next week, we will be receiving and mapping Valentines from the same 20 schools. This is a fantastic way to make connections with other children in our country, compare our communities, and celebrate the valentine tradition while learning about geography.
