measurement, poetry, and worms...oh my!

Students used their 5 senses to come up with spring imagery for their poems.
They crafted some pretty flowers for the poem pots. Aren't they lovely?!
We watched the book story 'Oopsie Daisy' and then used different objects to measure Splat's flowers.
We estimated and discovered it's hard to guess the exact measurement.
We also found out the taller flower needed more of the items to measure it.
We used non-standardized measures like cubes, toothpicks, paper clips etc to measure.
We learned of a different kind of measure called AREA.
We used pattern blocks to cover the area of different picture cards.

In science we discussed living vs non-living things.
We compared two types of worms: Red Wrigglers and Gummy worms!
