In the Classroom:
ELA: Daily 5, Words Their Way Blends, Storywriting, Guided Reading groups
Students brought home their first word sort on Tuesday. Have your child show you how they can sort the pictures according to the beginning blend sound. We will focus on Blends for the next couple weeks.
Math: 2D and 3D shapes. Activities have included shape sorting, shape identification, and matching; Building and drawing shapes, shape I Spy, and Shape art.
Science: Building Things. We are having an in-school fieldtrip on May 26th. I will need a few volunteers to help on this day from 1-3pm, please let me know if you are available. Thanks! The fieldtrip permission for this building project is online.
Social: We are learning about Rural, Suburban, and Urban communities.
