Monday: Planting bulbs (tulips)

Wednesday: Musical Ride?

Friday: Fall Walk (Wear good walking shoes and dress for the weather!)
In the Classroom:
ELA: Our Grade One Friends books: Students are continuing to share Me bags, interview each other, read basic sight words (he, she, like, is...), and write name, colour, and number words. We are reviewing phonics and printing the letters of the alphabet. We will have reviewed A-M by the end of this week. Students enjoy Read to Self time. We will work on building Stamina this week. Students will be introduced to the seasonal book Fletcher and the Falling Leaves.
Math: Working with Numbers to 20 through various number activities, ie) playdough mats, dominoes, counting games.
Social: Learning about our classmates and building classroom community. If you haven't sent a family photo yet, please do so we can add it to our wall! It does not have to be professional. You can email me a Family Selfie if you'd like! :)
Art: We are putting the final touches on our Self-Portraits and doing some Fall art this week.
PE: Last week we participated in 10 Locomotion centers. See the pics in our September album (top right). This week we will continue to develop loco-motor skills through movement games and activities.
Science: Autumn. We will be participating in a few seasonal activities this week as we observe Seasonal Change. Monday we will be planting bulbs and Friday is our Fall Walk. Students will need the online permission form filled out in order to participate. Good news: the permission form will cover all 4 of our Seasonal Walks! Let me know if you are planning to join us for the Fall Walk this Friday from 1-3pm.
