All September we focused on the theme of friendship. We each had a chance to share our likes and favourites. We created a book full of our Grade One friends and ended the month by being presented with a wonderful friend certificate. Our class has already formed a strong bond of friendship, sharing, and bucket-filling. We are sure to have the Best Year Ever!

We are doing a review of numbers to 20 in math. Here we are hard at work as some math number centres. |
In September, we had two visits from Zero the Hero! He comes every 10 days and helps us learn about numbers up to 100. On the 20th day of school, Zero left us Hero masks! We decorated them with 20 stickers. Ask your child to count 20 things at home. Counting things is good practice and helps build number sense!
Finally we ended the month, with a tribute walk to Terry Fox. It was a long walk (sorry adult volunteers!). The students did amazing and were pretty proud of their effort! We enjoyed the hotdogs and snack provided by the Town of Devon and Devon Lions Club after. Thank you everyone for supporting this event. We appreciate the donations and the families who came out to walk with us! Thank you!!
