In the Classroom

ELA

Reading groups are on hiatus this week while we do our Benchmark assessment. Students will be introduced to 5 new green words.

We did some great writing this week. Students are writing their first story called: A Day at the Beach. They are working on writing independently and I am so proud of them for spelling the words by stretching out the sounds and writing down what they hear. Students are working very hard to include many ideas in their story, we will continue adding our ideas to our story this week.

We also read the book, Snowy Day, and did a writing craftivity about what we do on snowy days. Students are doing a great job remembering finger spaces between their words.

This week we will do a sequencing exercise and a writing piece using the book "Sneezy the Snowman".

Science

We finished our study of winter with some beautiful winter bear art work. Students also worked together to create a mural showing animals that live over and under the snow.

Social/Health

It was great to have Dental Hygienist, Tenille, come teach us about dental health. Much thanks to Horizon Orthodontics for sponsoring.
