In the Classroom

ELA

Our Daily 5 rotations will be the focus of our Language Arts time this week. Students will be Reading books at their level and of their choice, working on writing a Fairytale, Listening to Reading, and doing Word Work activities. Reading groups are finished for the year and we have completed the assessment. I will continue doing Guided Reading with small groups as part of our Daily 5 time. It is important students are continuing to read each night so we will keep on with the Home Reading program for the next week or so.

Math

We are continuing to work on Subtraction problems. We will also do some geometry activities.

Social

Connecting to the Past. Students will be interviewing a person about what it was like to live long ago. They will chose their own questions and will practice the interview process in class.  We are also setting up a Museum. Students are invited to bring an interesting item from the past to show and tell and display in our museum. Items will be displayed and shared June 19-22.  I've had students bring all kinds of items such as a record player, old fashioned toys, photographs, kitchen tools, a typewriter, rotary telephone etc. Thank you for your assistance with this project.

Science

Seasonal Change: Summer. We will work on completing the Seasons unit as we look at the season of Summer.
