ELA
Guided Reading groups will continue. We are focusing on phonological awareness to build a foundation for strong literacy skills. Students will use a variety of reading strategies while practicing reading fluency, accuracy, and expression. We are pausing our Animated Literacy program until after Christmas but will continue with the Rainbow Words program. Students will be introduced to Technology for Literacy learning.
Students will do several creative writing projects including Letters to Santa, Elf job application, and Santa's Stuck story idea. We are learning to write more complex sentences through a Silly Elf Sentence activity.
Math
- Working with Numbers ie) skip counting, representing numbers to 70
Science
We will look at Seasonal Change: Winter, including our Winter Seasonal Walk on Dec. 21 (weather permitting).
Social
We are studying Traditions and Christmas Around the World.
