In the Classroom

ELA

Students will create a clay snowman, draw and describe it for a Lost Snowman activity. We will learn 5 blue words, do a word sort focused on the short o sound, and continue with reading groups. 

Using chalk pastels to draw Snowmen at Night

Math

Students have been using Mathletics to practice various math skills on the chromebooks.  We are playing games to practice number recognition to 20. This week we learned a new game Bump. Students practiced adding doubles in this game of strategy. We are continuing with our introduction to addition this week.

Science

Students are exploring Colour in our new science unit.

Social

We are doing a Valentines exchange with schools from around the country! This week we are making and mailing out 20 valentines. We will be learning about different communities as we receive  and map the valentines over the next couple weeks.

PE

Students had a great week skating! We had many who were skating for the very first time. They were so brave! We are so thankful for all the parents and grandparents who came out to tie skates and help out on the ice. We couldn't have done it without you!
