Science
Planting!
Last week, students planted a pansy and tomato plant at the Greenhouse. We learned that plants need 4 things to grow: soil, sun, water, and air. Thanks so much to our volunteers!
We became science detectives investigating and comparing a dry bean seed and a wet bean seed. We discovered that a seed has parts. There is a baby plant inside the seed!
Next week we will make our own mini-greenhouse and try and grow a bean plant from a seed. We will also plant our sunflower seed that we got from the North Pole!
Finally, we wrapped up our Colour unit by exploring how light can be separated into colour using a prism.
Art
This week we are celebrating the ARTS with musical performances every morning, Art every day, a Drum workshop, and hosting a special evening gala for families to view our Art pieces.
