Elfcapades continued! We shared more joy and cheer around our school this week. We wrote compliments to our classmates, showed appreciation to our custodians and secretaries, decorated and hid bookmarks in books in the library and read with a buddy. Our week of kindness and generosity ended with sharing a generosity slideshow at the assembly and leading a very festive dance. Click here to see our slideshow!
We reviewed the spellings of /k/ and practiced alphabetizing words that ended with the /k/ sound. Students learned to look at the first letter first, then the second letter, then the third when putting words in alphabetical order.
We practiced handwriting Loop group letter l.
We had our culture day for India this week! The students got to participate in making a Lantern, getting henna, tasting some Indian food and participating in some Indian dancing. The students had a BLAST!
ELA
In our small reading groups (Daily 5), we performed a Readers' Theatre called, Bob the Goofy Reindeer. Math
Students compared numbers, identifying which number is greater by looking first at the hundreds place, then the tens, and finally the ones. We reviewed the symbols for greater than (>) and less than (<). We continued to practice our subtraction facts and played a game called Tic Tac Toe with cards to reinforce subtracting 3 and 4.Social Studies
