Guided Reading 

We increased our Daily 5 time this week and read a new non-fiction book about Jane Goodall. Students used the Visualizing strategy to assist with Reading Comprehension.

OG

This week students were introduced to Gentle Cindy, a character to help us remember when to use the soft and hard sounds of g and c when reading and spelling.

The Gentle Cindy Rule: When followed by an e, i, or y, c says /s/ and g says /j/.

Star Student 

This week we learned more about Oliver and met his good buddy, Max!

Math

Students were introduced to adding and subtracting 2-digit numbers with regrouping.

Social Studies 

This week in Social Studies we learned about the climate and land in Tunisia. Students were shocked to hear sometimes  it can get as hot as 50°C there!

Science 

Students continued researching their animal from Australia. They are learning a lot and are excited to share with the class.

Our Bake Sale is this week! The Grade 3 students will be hosting the Bake Sale on Wednesday and Thursday. Remember to bring your baking in! All items will be $1. The Gr. 3 sudents are welcome to bring money to buy baking too!  Money raised will be donated to the WWF to help animals affected by the fires.

Skating

We had a blast skating this week! Everyone improved on their skills and had a lot of fun!
